Apple CEO Says Company Is Looking at Cryptocurrency Features

Apple Inc. chief executive officer Tim Cook said the company is looking at cryptocurrency features, but that it has no immediate plans to launch such functionality in Apple Pay.

Cook made the comments Tuesday at The New York Times DealBook conference. He was asked if the company plans to implement cryptocurrency support into its Apple Pay feature for making purchases. Cook said while he personally invests in cryptocurrency, he has no plans to invest Apple’s cash in the asset. “I don’t think people buy Apple stock to get exposure to crypto,” he said.
