Entain Group, one of the world’s leading sports betting and gaming companies, has announced a partnership with decentralized video delivery network, Theta Labs. In the first stage of the partnership, Entain will launch a Video NFT platform on partypoker, its leading poker brand. With this move, poker fans will now get a chance to own partypoker’s official NFTs.
“The partypoker customers will now have a unique opportunity to collect the iconic moments of the partypoker history with the proof of authenticity enabled by the blockchain technology,” said Valery Gelfman, Chief Product Officer at Entain. “We are pleased to partner with Theta Labs, a like-minded technology innovator and a distributed video delivery pioneer. Theta blockchain is ideal for video content and it is environmentally friendly.”

Theta Labs partnership with Entain will see NFT drops for brands across the group. While the first partnership is with partypoker, Entain will eventually use Theta Labs’ technology for video streaming, Metaverse, games, and more.
In the first stage, partypoker’s NFTs will feature some of the most iconic moments and tournament hands in the brand’s history. The new NFT platform will have both primary sales of new NFTs and a secondary marketplace to trade NFTs. The company will use the technology of Theta NFT marketplace, ThetaDrop, to build the marketplace. For now, neither of the companies have released more information on the specific NFTs.
“For the first time, we are licensing our integrated white-label NFT platform to one of the world’s largest gaming groups and we couldn’t ask for better partners in partypoker and Entain Group,” said Mitch Liu, CEO of Theta Labs. “Integrated into the partypoker application, this enables an NFT user experience as exciting and seamless as possible to customers, powered by Theta Network, Theta edge nodes to support video NFTs and TFUEL for transactions.”
What is Theta Labs?
Theta Labs is a leading decentralized video delivery platform that runs on its own blockchain, Theta Network. Basically, the company’s aim is to help lower the costs of content delivery networks by creating a network of shared content. In order to facilitate this, they reward end-users who share their bandwidth. The company has also developed Theta.tv, which offers decentralized live streaming services.
More recently, Theta Labs launched its NFT marketplace, ThetaDrop for media and entertainment. It was launched in partnership with the World Poker Tour, Katy Perry, Jukin Media and Fuse Media. What’s more, Katy Perry dropped her first NFT collection exclusively on the platform. Called “The Roar Package”, the collection highlighted the singer’s 2015 Super Bowl halftime performance. Besides, her iconic performance was atop a 26 foot, 2200 lbs. golden lion. That physical lion also went on auction along with Perry’s NFT collection. Along with this, the collection included several exclusive personal contents from the star.
