Midna is Link’s sidekick in Twilight Princess . She frees Link from his imprisonment at the start of the game and accompanies him throughout. At first, she has her own agenda and seems to care little for Link, treating him like a servant and refusing to tell him why she sought the Fused Shadows that they collect. After Zelda sacrifices herself to save Midna’s life, however, she has a change of heart. It’s eventually revealed that she is the leader of the Twilight Realm, and was deposed and cursed by Zant prior to the events of the game. Midna may be a rather annoying Zelda sidekick at the beginning of Twilight Princess , but she and Link grow close over time, and both are sad to separate by the end of the g
While Ravali, Urbosa, and Daruk are all beloved by the community as well, Mipha seemed to be the champion that resonated with most players. Part of a strange love triangle between Link and Zelda , the Zora princess was one of the kindest Zelda characters of all t
Prince Sidon is the prince of Zora, the son of King Dorephan, and Mipha’s brother. He not only assisted Link in taking down a Divine Beast that was threatening Zora’s Domain in BOTW , but also was a good friend to the Hylian hero and shared an emotional bond, in part because of Mipha. Sidon heavily grieves his sister’s death and can be caught speaking to her statue, wishing she were there. The quests surrounding the Zora in BOTW focus heavily on her, and Link’s adventure log reveals his feelings for Mipha , though fans had to sift through the Japanese version to get the bigger picture of this. Contemplating the events that may happen in Tears of the Kingdom it is easy to assume that Prince (or perhaps even King by this time) Sidon will join Link for at least a portion of the trials which he will face in this next chap
It’s assumed that they possess far more normal strength than the average human due to the many impressive feats that Link can accomplish with usually no training. While many might attribute this to Link being the destined hero, it’s important to remember that he isn’t worthy because of his strength but because of his cour
Known from her appearance in The Wind Waker , Legend of Zelda ‘s Medli could make an excellent protagonist in her own right. The Rito may have changed in each Zelda game they appear in, but the race has been a key part the world they inhabit in each one, particularly Medli and her musical powers. Medli showed in Hyrule Warriors she’s a strong fighter in her own right, using her Rito Harp to launch wind at enemies in interesting ways. This intriguing character could have a whole game delving into the world of the Rito more, using her harp as a weapon against enemies, and her flight ability could lead to unique new in-game puzzles and navigat
Part of what has made the Legend of Zelda series so enduring is its many strong characters. Link has always remained the series’ star, and while he’s proven to be a consistently strong protagonist, it’s high time that another beloved character had the spotlight. There are plenty of other characters whose combination of interesting storyline potential and intriguing combat styles would shake things up in innovative ways. As players replay Zelda games before Tears of the Kingdom releases, they will likely even come across more strong candidates for other main characters not listed here. While these **Legend of Zelda ** characters may never get their time in the sun, their potential is a testament to the series’ well-crafted charact
In Zelda: Twilight Princess , Link is a simple villager who goes to rescue the children of his village. He soon encounters the Twilight, a power that strips away the light from Hyrule, and is transformed into a wolf. Link then sets off on a journey across a Hyrule swallowed up by Twilight to rescue the Light Spirits and gather the Fused Shadows with the help of Twilight Princess ‘ fan-favorite sidekick Midna . Along the way, the two rescue the lost children and aid the various races of Hyrule. Eventually, they confront Zant, one of the main antagonists, as well as his evil patron, Ganondorf. Once they’re both defeated, Midna goes home to the Twilight Realm before destroying the gateway between it and Hyrule, the Mirror of Twili
If Midna were to appear in BOTW 2 , she may not reprise her role as Link’s companion. Breath of the Wild remaster of the Wild and Twilight Princess are vastly different games, and it seems odd for her to accompany Link as she once did since he has no sidekick in the first BOTW and there’s no evidence that he will have one in the second. In addition, light is harmful to Midna, since she’s a member of the Twili race. She needs to stay in Link’s shadow whenever she’s in the world of light in Twilight Princess , so it doesn’t seem like she would follow him in a Hyrule not taken over by the Twilight. It’s more likely she would be a minor character if she returns in BOTW 2 , and be involved with a side quest or a minor questline instead of being a main character again. Alternatively, she could also appear in DLC just like her helmet did in the first BO
