Some of the new abilities that Link will use in **The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom ** have been revealed, and they look like they will be quite good and fun to use. There may also be more abilities revealed in the time leading up to release, in addition to the ones that players won’t see until they actually pick up the game and possible changes to some of Link’s returning BOTW abilities . TOTK releases next year on May 12, so there’s plenty of time to reveal more of the powers Link will wield on his new adventure through Hyr
If Midna were to appear in BOTW 2 , she may not reprise her role as Link’s companion. Breath of the Wild and Twilight Princess are vastly different games, and it seems odd for her to accompany Link as she once did since he has no sidekick in the first BOTW and there’s no evidence that he will have one in the second. In addition, light is harmful to Midna, since she’s a member of the Twili race. She needs to stay in Link’s shadow whenever she’s in the world of light in Twilight Princess , so it doesn’t seem like she would follow him in a Hyrule not taken over by the Twilight. It’s more likely she would be a minor character if she returns in BOTW 2 , and be involved with a side quest or a minor questline instead of being a main character again. Alternatively, she could also appear in DLC just like her helmet did in the first BO
Sheik always seems to appear out of thin air when finding Link throughout Ocarina of Time , showing off a sly nature that would fit perfectly in a more stealth-focused title than the average Zelda game. A Sheik game could fall during the period of time Link is asleep in the Temple of Time and show more about what Sheik was actually doing in Ocarina of Time . Little is known about what happens during the seven years Link is asleep, and a Sheik game would be a great way to learn more about that period of time as well as explore Sheik’s combative capabilities as they hold their own in Link’s absence and wage war against Ganond
The latest ability to be revealed for Tears of the Kingdom is a mechanical, bird-like glider. This was shown for only a few seconds in the latest trailer, where Link landed on it from a skydive and gently glided over Hyrule. Unlike the other powers revealed so far, there’s no evidence that this is connected to Link’s new arm. It also doesn’t look like it’s of Sheikah make, as it’s quite different from their other automatons such as the Guardians and Divine Bea
By making further use of the Spinner’s unique mechanics, it could become an incredibly useful tool for Link in a new adventure. It could ride on surfaces that neither Link nor Epona would be able to cross normally while letting him fight at the same time. The Spinner could also be adapted into one of the Sheikah Slate’s new features if it returns in Tears of the Kingdom , strengthening the argument for bringing it back. Twilight Princess is a Zelda game worth replaying before TOTK , and the Spinner was one of its more interesting new id
The Legend of Zelda characters games have seen Link wield an impressive array of items, and _Tears of the Kingdom _ has the opportunity to bring back some of his best tools. No matter how long it’s been since their original debut, a lot of items could benefit greatly from a return to the games. In a series about exploration, it can never hurt to have a lot of tools on h
The kingdom of Hyrule was established by Zelda and the Hero of Sky after the events of Skyward Sword , and its name was chosen in honor of the Goddess Hylia. As Hyrule is threatened by Ganon’s curse of malice in each era, however, Hylia’s failure to defeat The Legend of Zelda ‘s Demise before her mortal reincarnation has essentially doomed her peaceful kingdom to cyclical suffering. In a sense, Hylia serves as both the protector of Hyrule as well as the mechanism behind which its very timeline can be woven and unraveled. As such, Tears of the Kingdom may be a grim but fitting name indicating that Hyrule’s god-princess will mourn the fate of her kingdom upon realizing the true extent of her power’s role throughout its hist
One of the first new abilities that was revealed showed Link passing through the ground on one of Tears of the Kingdom ‘s floating islands . This was first shown in Nintendo ‘s teaser at E3 2021 (now found on YouTube), but has not appeared since. When Link uses it, he floats upwards while surrounded by some kind of green light, and briefly pauses halfway through the ground before popping out of the other side. Immediately before this, a scene showed a drop of water falling to the ground in reverse, though the significance of this is unknown. Strange music also plays for the duration of the clip, and extends into the following
The depictions of animals in the Zonai ruins show that three creatures had more importance to them than others. These creatures would be pigs, birds, and, most prominently, dragons. It’s possible that the Zonai worshiped the lightning dragon Farosh, who appears around the ruins in Faron. Alternatively, these animals are linked to the three pieces of the Triforce. Pigs are associated with Ganon, who holds the Triforce of Power. Owls are birds associated with wisdom. The Spring of Courage is found inside dragon ruins, which links the dragon to courage. Therefore, the Zonai seem to have a connection to the Triforce or a reverence for
