Your weapon flares with white-hot intensity. It deals an extra 1d6 Fire damage and marks the target with Searing Smite. A target with Searing Smite takes 1d6 Fire damage every turn, until it succeeds on a Constitution Saving Throw. If the spellcaster misses the initial Attack, the spell slot and Bonus Action are not consumed.

From the moment players unlock their Battle Master Animal Companion , all five options are available, and no additional companion choices unlock at later levels. There is the Wolf, Bear, Dire Raven, Boar, and Wolf Spider – and of the five, the Wolf Spider provides the most utility and damage output.
The Outlander background grants proficiency in Athletics and Survival, which leaves most every other Ranger skill proficiency up for grabs. This background triggers inspiration when conquering the wilds in various ways, including defeating or otherwise getting past powerful enemies, and exploring (and surviving) the various hostile areas players can get to.
Transform yourself or an ally into a cloud of mist to avoid attacks. The target becomes Resistant to all damage, gains Advantage on Constitution, Dexterity, and Strength Saving Throws, and becomes tiny in size.
The unique Monk feature is Ki, a unique resource that refreshes with every Short Rest, and is used to fuel many of the best Monk abilities. Players start with just two Ki, then gain one for each level-up.
The other companion animals can be more damaging or more useful situationally, but the Bear will generally provide the best utility to a Beast Master Ranger, especially if they plan to fight at a range.
Alter the terrain around you, allowing nearby allies in the area to travel with ease. You and your allies aren’t affected by Difficult Terrain, can’t be Restrained or Paralysed, and gain Resistance to Poison damage.

Magically Charm a humanoid to gain Advantage on Ability Checks in dialogue and prevent it from attacking. Enemies have Advantage on Saving Throws against being Charmed. When the spell ends, the target might accuse you of Charming them.
Cause a metal weapon or armour to glow red-hot and force the creature touching it to let go or receive Disadvantage on Attack Rolls and Ability Checks. If the creature is only wearing metal armour, it always rcccivcs Disadvantage. If the creature is still touching the metal, you can use a bonus action on subsequent turns to deal another 2d8 Fire damage and force the creature to let go or receive Disadvantage.
Choosing the Thief Rogue subclass as a Monk will bar the player from the Shadow Strike ability (Level 11 Shadow Monk) and the Purity of Body ability (Level 10 Monk). However, it unlocks the ability to Sneak Attack, which works perfectly in tandem with the Shadow Monk’s playstyle.
Typically, Baldur’s Gate 3 classes like the Ranger that don’t rely heavily on spellcasting don’t have as many choices to make while leveling. However, thanks to the sheer number of class features available to this BG3 Ranger build and the class’ ability to use low-level spells (like a Paladin), Rangers actually have quite a lot to choose from as they level up.
Curse a creature so it takes additional damage whenever you attack it and to inflict Disadvantage on Ability Checks with an Ability of your choosing. If the target dies before the spell ends, you can use a bonus action to hex a new creature.
Your attack summons thorny vines, dealing Weapon Damage and possibly Ensnaring your target. Ensnared creatures cannot move and take 1d6 Piercing damage at the start of each turn. An ally can use its help action to try and tear away the vines.
