Chainlink Invites the Crypto Community to Join the Fall 2022 Hackathon

Chainlink, one of the leading projects in the crypto industry that created the first-ever network of decentralized oracles, has recently announced a new event for October and November 2022. The event, known as the Chainlink Fall 2022 Hackathon, is about to start in less than 10 days, with the starting date being October 14th. The event will end on November 18th, after lasting a little more than a full month.

The project’s announcement on Twitter also noted that winners of the event will receive rewards from a $300,000 large pool. The event will feature some of the best world-class workshops, and participants will get the opportunity to hack with a dynamic team. In the end, Chainlink hopes to provide a fun learning experience and give its community the opportunity to build, win rewards, and generally have a good time.

Details about the hackathon

The project has offered more information about the new event on a dedicated page on its website. According to the website, anyone from anywhere in the world is allowed to participate, as long as they respect the rules and follow the Code of Conduct. It also noted that some external websites used in the event might be subject to country-specific limitations, which is something that the project cannot do much about.

Other than that, pretty much anything goes. Participants can win rewards by building new and unique projects, and in order to have them eligible to receive rewards — the projects must be built during the hackathon itself. Anything built before the start of the event, or projects built during the past hackathons will not be eligible for rewards.

Attendance, as always, is completely free, and each team is allowed to have anywhere between 1 and 5 people. Chainlink has also ensured those who never participated in hackathons before not to worry, noting that it would be helpful to have some software engineering experience, but also that this is not a requirement. It stated that there will be plenty of talks, workshops, and mentors to help new and inexperienced teams/participants with their projects. In the end, this is a place and an opportunity to learn new things about blockchain technology and smart contracts.

Each project will also need to have a video that represents it and showcases available features, and the video needs to be up to 5 minutes long. The video is mandatory, although Chainlink noted that it is fine even if it only has the developer talking and explaining how the project works.

The grand prize for the project will be $25,000, followed by a number of different categories where winners will receive a specific amount for winning that category. That includes Top Quality ($20,000). NFT & Gaming Prize ($15,000), DeFi Prize ($15,000), DAO Prize ($10,000), Social Impact ($10,000), Women in Tech ($10,000), Chainlink Services – First ($7,000), Chainlink Services – Second ($4,000), and Chainlink Services – Third ($2,000).
